Dear Congress Participant

The Norwegian Association for Children’s Palliative Care (FFB) are proud to organise a European Paediatric Palliative Care Congress in collaboration with the European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC). The congress will take place in Kristiansand, Norway 2nd to the 4th of September 2020. This is the first European Paediatric Palliative Care Congress to be held in Norway.

The congress organisation is now well underway. The scientific committee have developed an exceptional programme covering a range of contemporary issues in paediatric palliative care, including: neonatal palliative care, pain and symptom management, ethical issues, education and research. We are delighted that so many high-profile speakers from paediatric palliative care have agreed to be a part of this exciting congress (link to speakers)

The seeds for a collaborative congress, organised between the EAPC and The Norwegian Association for Children's Palliative Care (FFB), were planted in May 2017, at the 15th EAPC World Congress in Madrid, Spain.  The EAPC represents healthcare professionals working, or with an interest, in palliative care across the life-span.  The EAPC aims to speak with “One Voice One Vision” on matters relating to palliative care throughout Europe and beyond. Currently the EAPC has 59 member associations from 33 European countries and has individual and national association members from 54 countries globally. FFB has been a member of the EAPC for more than three years.  In 2015, FFB organised a successful Norwegian Paediatric Palliative Care Congress, and now looks forward to bringing a European congress to Kristiansand.  FFB has worked closely with the EAPC on several issues relating to children's palliative care.

We ask you to mark the dates in your diary and look forward to welcoming you to Kristiansand, Norway 2-4th September 2020.

Best regards from
Natasha Pedersen, Chair of the congress, Chief Executive Officer of the Norwegian Association for Children's Palliative Care (FFB) FFB and Board of directors EAPC.
Julie Ling, Chair of the congress, Chief Executive Officer at The European Association for Palliative Care
